1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use the One Food Forward website and service (“OFF”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the service.
The service is operated by One Food Forward (Pty) Ltd., 101 Kyalami Drive, Killarney Gardens, Cape Town, 7441, South Africa. Contact us at [email protected].
OFF does not intend to set a blanket minimum age. Adults create and manage their own accounts. For a teen aged 13–17, a parent or legal guardian must create and manage the account and confirm permission before health features are available. OFF does not currently support accounts for children under 13 because its required verifiable parental-consent process is not ready. The development signup asks the user to select an age category; this is self-reported and does not verify age. The teen consent flow is still under legal review and is not enabled for production.
2. What One Food Forward does
OFF is a personal food and health-recording tool. Depending on the features available, you can record foods, symptoms, medications, supplements, allergies, conditions, medical events, laboratory results, measurements, notes, and related information. The service can display your entries in a timeline and summarize information you choose to record.
OFF is not a medical service. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure a condition; determine whether a food or medicine caused a symptom; or replace a healthcare professional. Reports and observations are descriptive summaries of the records you entered and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Do not use OFF to make urgent or treatment decisions. Contact a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, and use local emergency services in an emergency.
You are responsible for deciding what information to record and for checking it for accuracy. Catalogue entries and nutritional information are general reference material; they are not individualized medical or dietary recommendations.
3. Your account and security
Provide an email address you control and keep your sign-in credentials private. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe someone has accessed it without permission.
Keep your account details current. We may send essential account, security, service, or billing notices to the email address associated with your account. Optional reminders or product updates will be handled according to your settings and applicable law.
4. Paid access and subscriptions
OFF will have no free plan. The planned prices are USD $12.99 for each month, or USD $129.90 for 12 months (two months free compared with paying monthly). Checkout will state the amount, billing interval, applicable taxes, and any currency conversion or payment-provider fees before you pay. These plans are not available for purchase through the current public/live service; Sandbox checkout is for development only.
Subscriptions will renew automatically for the same interval unless you cancel. You can cancel from account settings at any time; cancellation stops the next renewal, and paid access continues until the end of the period already paid for. If a payment fails, we will allow a 7-day grace period to update payment details. After that, the account becomes read-only until payment resumes. You can still view and export existing records, but cannot add timeline entries or catalogue suggestions. Subscription status alone will not delete your records.
If you cancel a prepaid period, OFF’s proposed rule is a refund for the unused full days remaining, calculated on a daily basis. You may also request a refund within 14 days of your first payment. These rules do not reduce mandatory rights under applicable law; checkout will show the final terms before purchase. Refund processing may take time through the payment provider.
Paddle Billing is the planned payment provider. Live checkout will remain disabled until OFF completes Paddle's live-account approval and configuration. Paddle handles payment-card details; do not send card details to OFF by email or in a support request.
5. Your entries and catalogue suggestions
You retain your rights in the information you submit. You give OFF permission to store, display, organize, back up, and process that information only as needed to operate, secure, and support the service and as described in the Privacy Policy.
Catalogue suggestions are reviewed. We may approve, edit for clarity, combine with an existing entry, decline, or remove a suggestion. If approved, the catalogue item may be made available to other users. Do not include your own or anyone else’s identifying or detailed health information in a catalogue suggestion or note. A suggestion does not become a private support message.
You confirm that you have the rights and authority needed to submit material and that it does not unlawfully disclose another person’s information. We may remove material that is abusive, unlawful, unsafe, irrelevant, or submitted to misuse the service.
6. Acceptable use
Use OFF for your own lawful personal recordkeeping. Do not:
- use the service to harass, threaten, impersonate, defraud, or send unsolicited messages;
- submit malicious code, unlawful content, another person’s private information, or content you have no right to share;
- attempt to bypass account, subscription, security, or access controls, interfere with the service, or access another person’s account;
- scrape, copy, resell, or exploit the service or shared catalogues except as permitted by law; or
- misuse catalogue suggestions, support channels, or other forms to send content unrelated to their purpose.
We may review reports and suggestions, restrict a feature, or suspend an account when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or the law. Where practical, we will explain the action and provide a way to contact us.
7. Changes, availability, and ending use
We may update or discontinue features, catalogue entries, or the service. We will provide notice when a change materially affects paid access, subject to applicable law. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that user-entered data is a substitute for maintaining any medical or personal records you need elsewhere.
You can stop using OFF at any time and request account deletion through account settings. Deletion permanently removes your account and associated records from the active database; residual backup copies are removed according to the backup expiry schedule described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimers and legal terms
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. Nothing in these terms excludes a consumer right, warranty, or liability that the law does not allow us to exclude. Any limitation of liability must be read subject to those mandatory protections.
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.
We may revise these terms. We will update the date above and, for material changes, provide notice through the service or by email where appropriate. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms only to the extent permitted by law.
